A head office function based in Altrincham require an experienced Payroll Assistant to support with a significant increase in workload. There is a great chance for this role to become permanent for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Running 3 payrolls, bonus payments and calculating SSP, SMP, SPP and expenses
  • Submitting RTI to HMRC
  • Processing attachment of earnings and P32 payments
  • Processing pension schemes and uploading to pension provider
  • Regular reporting of gender pay gap and average hours
  • Accurate payment of apprenticeship levy across all companies
  • Processing year-end payroll and P60's
  • Entering new starters and processing leavers
  • Administering third party requests for information and payments
  • Resolving pay queries
  • Providing payroll training for operational staff

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience of full end to end payroll processes
  • Ideally have Certificate in Payroll Processing (CIPP)
  • Ideally have used a time and attendance system
  • Have excellent software skills used a variety of payroll software

As Payroll Officer you will work in a stand-alone payroll role and be a key member of the HR team. You will enjoy a varied payroll role and enjoy working closely with HR and operational staff. The offices are bright, modern and you will work in a very positive collaborative culture. You will also enjoy the challenge of getting operation staff on board with payroll processes that are key to the completion of the full payroll process too.
