Streetscene & City Services is responsible for the Council’s front line services including, customer service channels (digital, contact centre and face to face) and environmental operations such as highways, drainage, transportation, waste, street cleansing, parks and cemeteries.

About the job

The postholder will directly report to the Highways and Engineering Service Manager and will have extensive experience in municipal civil engineering especially drainage management, assets and structural engineering. Duties will include statutory compliance, asset management, SUDs and drainage consultation. Project management is a key element in the role from initial inception through to successful completion.

About the person

The post holder (s) will hold a minimum of HND/HNC in civil Engineering or other related discipline and have relevant experience in working in a design/construction related environment with strong bias to civil engineering and/or highways. This post requires you to demonstrate the ability to work well as both an individual and team member with minimal management input. The post holder will also be required to possess an ability to organise and prioritise tasks and deliver complex outcomes to tight deadlines.

You will be skilled at analysing multiple sources of information, making excellent decisions, and driving difficult situations towards a positive resolution.
