A self-starting, enthusiastic Business Development Manager is sought by St. Leonard's Hospice in York to fundraise for the charity. This is an ideal role for an experienced marketer or senior sales person who now wants to work in the non-commercial sector. The charity welcomes applications from candidates aged over 50.
Location: York
Rewards: GBP24,214 - GBP30,112 per annum, 37.5 hrs pw.

About You
As Business Development Manager you will need to manage a varied workload and not be scared of getting stuck in. You will be enthusiastic about the Hospice goals and vision and be able to demonstrate the creativity and ability to generate new business opportunities with the aim of increasing Hospice support, income and awareness.
Whilst previous experience in a similar role is desirable, high energy levels, passion and a keen desire to succeed are all essential qualities.
You will be business-focused and target-driven as well as being an excellent communicator who is skilled at building and maintaining contacts and who presents a personable and professional image at all times.
You will have exceptional organisational, planning, prioritising and project management skills, and possess a flair for problem solving. With a strong "can-do" attitude, you will not be afraid to challenge and improve on existing practices and bring the team on board with new initiatives.
You will be working in a fast-paced, very busy office environment so it is important that you are a real team player with the ability to get along with and influence people at all levels, whilst staying calm under pressure.
Job Summary
- To work as a member of the Fundraising Team to pro-actively seek out and identify new business opportunities
- To engage with key decision makers in identifying new markets, growth areas, trends, supporters, events, campaigns and promotions
- To build and retain an active and fresh profile for the Hospice through regular and appropriate networking and constant quality stewardship of supporters
- To manage Corporate and Community Fundraisers and deputise for other team members as appropriate
