Our Client is a highly regarded and successful supplier of Ambient Food Products to a large arena of customers. They currently require a QA / Quality Assurance individual to join the warehouse team, based at a 3rd party warehouse.
This QA / Quality Assurance position will support the QA Supervisor, and take responsibility for;
* Undertake the relevant QC testing on all products to ensure compliance with customer specifications. These QC tests include, packaging presentation, net weights, drained weights, Ph, Brix and overall organoleptic parameters including tasting of a wide variety of products, some of which may be high in sugar or contain known allergens.
* Identify production codes arriving into the warehouse that require sampling and then arrange with the 3rd party operator the collection of the samples and delivery to the testing area within the agreed timeframe.
* Check that the outer case coding, sku, description, information and barcodes are correct including inbound deliveries where required.
* Check that the product is from an approved factory/supplier.
* Undertake the relevant warehousing conformance checks of the product including case weight, dimensions.
* Ensure that all documentation is completed in full, signed and dated and filed correctly.
* Use of SAP and other PC applications for data entry and analysis.
* Escalate product issues to the supervisor.
* Raise non-conformance reports and inbound incident reports and circulate as required.
* Calibrate daily the laboratory equipment including balance, refractometer, Ph meter etc. and record details.
* Preparing and arranging delivery of any sample requests.
We require a Quality Assurance / QA / Lab based individual that has ideally worked within a similar position within a QC / QA / FMCG / Warehouse environment, preferably within the Food sector. Previous exposure to product testing would be advantageous, to compliment an understanding of SAP.
This role will be based in Felixstowe, Suffolk
Expected Hours: 37.5 p/w on average. 8am to 4pm.
Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus bank holidays.
A driving licence is essential
