What you'll be doing

  • Authorising draw down payments on development loans that are 'non standard' and acting as a SME for development loan queries
  • Owning at client level high value collection/work out cases
  • Approving (with others) high value development and bridging loans
  • Compile and develop the credit committee reporting pack ensuring horizon monitoring is fully incorporated
  • Daily / weekly oversight of risk profile and risk appetite proactively investigating variances and structured reporting to DOCR & CCRO.
  • Supporting the DOCR in the compilation and analytical understanding of IFRS9 reporting
  • Pro actively investigating portfolio trends and making recommendations for change
  • Other duties / projects that may be requested by the DCR or CCRO from time to time

What we need you to have

  • Understanding of loan provisioning and underlying loan characteristics that drive loan performance
  • Able to make quality lending judgements and present reasoned arguments to senior management when necessary
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of:
    • Credit Referencing Agency reports (personal and commercial)
    • KYC/AML/financial crime regulation
    • Application/Indebtedness scoring
    • Land Registry Reports
    • RICS Valuations / AVMs
    • Commercial, property and contract law
  • Close attention to detail with the ability to identify risks at an early stage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability of working within in high volume workflow and prioritising accordingly for self and others
  • Understanding of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Conduct Risk and ensuring both principles are key cultural aspects of how the job holder works
  • Solid underwriting experience dealing with both commercial and residential security/ Personal and corporate borrowers
