We are looking for a Fully Qualified Primary Teacher who specialises in Literacy to take on a full-time, KS2 Teaching Position for September. The position is teaching a year 5 class at full capacity, and is set to run for 2 full terms with the opportunity of becoming permanent. The school are conducting interviews within the coming weeks, and will also expect an observed lesson to be taught to the class which will both engage the pupils in the subject as well as educate them.

The school are looking for a teacher to co-ordinate with other teachers with regards to the approach of teaching literacy to the schools pupils. You will be teaching a mixed ability class in which the majority of pupils are struggling to maintain their engagement in the subject of literacy. Successful applicants will have leadership and somewhat managerial traits to their persona, allowing the school and its other members of staff to be confident in your ability to teach the subject.

The school is large, 3 form entry, and received an overall 'Good' rating from OFSTED. You will also have the additional support of a Qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant who will be raising attainment, and working 1:1 alongside pupils who require additional support.

Ideal applicants will also be required to:

  • Support children with challenging behaviour
  • Have their own transport
  • Have a professional level of classroom management skills
  • Possess Extensive knowledge of the curriculum
  • Be able to motivate and encourage primary school children to learn
  • Engage and motivate pupils by making classes interactive and stimulating

As a class teacher, the school will expect you to re-enforce the schools behaviour policy at all times, as well as maintain a high level of classroom management in order to ensure all pupils are focussed on the work that you set.
