We have a great opportunity for a Court Usher working at one of the Courts in Southend. You will be working 37 hours per week between Monday - Friday.

This is a temporary position which is expecting to run until mid October 2019 though this may be extended.

The role of an Usher entails organising the court whilst working in a team of Ushers, greeting visitors, calling witnesses and defendants into court. You will direct witnesses in the taking of oaths and swearing in jurors. You may also be required to carry out light administration duties such as filling and sending emails. Basic Housekeeping e.g. setting courts up in morning / tidying at end of day.

The successful candidate will work well in a team, have the confidence to speak to a range of people from all walks of life and someone who is a good communicator. As you will be working within a government booking you will be required to go through a compliance process. This will involve undergoing a criminal check and visiting the Chelmsford Office to complete the vetting paperwork.

You will be working 37 hours per week Monday - Friday with a pay rate of GBP8.21 per hour. Please not that anyone under the age of 24 will be paid the applicable national minimum wage and people over the age of 25 will be paid the applicable national living wage.
