About the role
As a M&E Building Surveyor you will provide a building services asset surveying service to our customers, the MoD and the Babcock Plant Managers as Company Asset owners, for Devonport Royal Dockyard under the Maritime Support Delivery Framework (MSDF) contract. You will determine asset condition and required works to maintain condition and statutory conformance.
Main Purpose of Role
As the Surveyor you will be part of the Built Environment Surveying Team, primarily undertaking the Mechanical and electrical element of building surveys to facilitate meeting MSDF KPI targets. You will be responsible for assessing the condition and statutory compliance of the building services. Interrogating maintenance of asset databases and scoping any remedial works required to meet contract standards. You will be required to liaise with internal and external customers to survey and report back on planned maintenance, responsive repairs and life cycle condition of buildings, services and infrastructure assets within the Devonport Dockyard estate.
What do I need to do the role?
You will need to have a degree or HND level in building services or similar and have a membership of a related professional institute.
You will also need to have experience in the following areas:
- Ability to work unsupervised and be well motivated.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- An in-depth understanding of building services and regulations across a variety of building types.
- Experience of producing technical reports, specifications and ability to interrogate technical information for the production of KPI reports is desirable.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of regulatory compliance relating to building services. Ability to produce technical drawings.
