Main duties and responsibilities
Responsible for full platform performance, stability and continuous delivery including overarching technical strategy and architecture as well as implementation, support (incl. out of hours) and maintenance across all levels of the e-commerce platform across web and mobile apps: architecting, engineering and testing at all levels including AWS infrastructure; PHP with WordPress/WooCommerce; front end JavaScript, HTML & CSS and React Native.

Skills, qualifications and experience needed

  • 10+ years’ experience building high traffic web applications at full stack engineering level across PHP, MySQL, MongoDB, JavaScript, HTML and CSS;
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in a mobile-first e-commerce environment using fully customised WordPress/WooCommerce with bespoke third-party integrations (including Braintree, Google analytics tools, Facebook Pixel & Marketing API);
  • At least 1 year developing mobile e-commerce apps in React Native;
  • Experience in leading a team of more junior developers;
  • Able to continuously deliver across all areas of the platform in a fast-moving, agile startup environment;
  • Strong communication skills and able to work collaboratively with Product Owners & Product Manager to define, develop and deliver solutions to complex technical and strategic problems to meet the business requirements;
  • Masters degree in Informatics, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent;
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
