Mechanical Sales Engineer /Technical Sales Engineer
This is a great opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineer to join an award winning, global industry leader, and be involved in business development and sales activity of mechanical products to the defence, marine, and industrial markets.
Based from Slough offices, the sales team plays a pivotal technical and commercial role within the company, working hand -in-hand with the design team, and the successful candidate will spend time visiting and developing business relationships with key clients, providing them with technical and commercial solutions.
Your role will include:
• Developing an understanding of the programmes, market customers and competitors.
??Identifying and developing new business and convert these into orders, which will include regular client visits within the UK and overseas as necessary.
??Carrying out product selection and analysis using analysis software.
??Play an active role in product design and development in-house.
??Preparing technical and commercial proposals, budgets and competitor market information.
??Establish technical and commercial requirements and assist clients to develop specifications as required.
??Negotiating technical and commercial contracts.
??Identifying and project managing new products and applications.
Essential requirements:
* Qualified and capable mechanical engineer.
* High calibre confident individual with good people skills.
* Capability to understand complex technical and commercial matters.
* A clean, UK valid driving licence is essential.
* Due to security clearance a UK passport would be important.
* PC literacy.
* Good standard of education with sound grounding in mathematics and engineering.
Desirables:
A degree qualified mechanical engineer, technical sales and business development experience, a knowledge of the defence and naval, or aerospace markets.
As the role is based within Slough offices, you will need to be living within a reasonable commute of Slough, or be able to relocate quickly under your own steam and cost.
Please note that this is not a commission-based sales role.
