Surveyor – Property Maintenance / Building Services

Cambridge (Home Based)

Circa £35,000pa (negotiable dependant on skills) including car allowance, plus excellent benefits package

Full time 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Our client is a major housing association operating between Oxford and Cambridge, based in Bedford. They are a leading provider and developer of affordable homes - for rent, sheltered, residential care and shared ownership. They own around 18,000 homes, employ 350 people, and have an annual turnover of around £100 million.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyor to join their Building Services team.  This role delivers a comprehensive, good quality responsive repairs and maintenance service to customers.

The Surveyor will be responsible for a full range of technical duties including surveying, specifying and managing repair works.  You will work with our Contractors to ensure repairs are carried out quickly and to a high standard while achieving value for money.  A drive to deliver good customer service is essential.

To be successful you will have a working knowledge of building construction as well as both maintenance and social housing legislation and environments.  Our client needs you to have a minimum qualification of Btec / NVQ or equivalent in a relevant trade/occupation.

You must be able to work alone, as this post requires you to work from home or on your patch for much of the working week.

Due to the nature of the role, you must live within proximity of Cambridge and hold a full UK driving license.

In return our client can offer a competitive salary, a home working package, £2,000 car allowance, 28 days annual holiday (plus bank holidays) increasing with service, contributory pension, free life assurance, free private medical cover, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme.

Interviews will take place throughout the campaign.
