We are at the forefront of delivering the largest estates transformation programme across government - Building Our Future Locations - which is responsible for delivering Phase One of the Government Hubs Programme, including the 13 regional centres, transitional sites and specialist sites, which are due to be completed in the early 2020's.
About the role
The Regional Centre Security Manager supports the Building Management Team within Estates Services.
You will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of all aspects of physical security. You will collaborate with HRMC's external security service provider. You will ensure that day-to-day responsibility for building related security obligations are met within the security standards for the Regional Centre (as set out by the physical security specialist), overseeing and leading activities to ensure that the building is able to provide appropriate control measures for:
- Compliance and implementation for HMRC Buildings, Office & Equipment Policy, and Personnel Security & Vetting Policies
- HMRC's Health & Safety Policy by seeking assurances about their buildings to ensure compliance with legal and departmental standards in the area of building related security.
As the Security Manager you will have line no management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Your key areas of responsibility are recognised as but are not limited to:
- You will Provide our Canary Wharf office with timely advice and guidance on security matters, ensuring that arrangements are in place for an effectively lead, maintained, and coordinated response to any security incident, threat or intelligence report.
- You will be responsible for the management of all aspects of physical security.
- You will ensure day-to-day responsibility for building related security obligations are met, overseeing and leading activities to ensure that the building is able to provide appropriate control measures.
- You will undertake regular security reviews to ensure standards are of a satisfactorily high standard; meeting existing threats and risks to the business.
- You will provide a professional working relationship with HRMC's external security service provider.

Person specification
Essential
- Previous experience and knowledge of C-Cure or other access control software.
- Relevant knowledge and experience of management of security processes
- Training on new security related technology may be needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold the relevant BTEC Level 5 Security Management qualification or equivalent
