Due to exciting growth plans the opportunity for a Property Development Manager has arisen with Housing 21, a national leading provider of retirement housing& care services for older people of modest means. Housing 21 are committed to building innovative design and construction fit for the future needs of older people. You will cover the South West England region.

Housing 21 is a not for profit, leading national provider of retirement housing and care services for older people with modest means within the Property and Housing sector. They deliver affordable, contemporary, person centred care and housing that meets individual needs to improves wellbeing and promotes independent living. Operating in 150 local authority areas, managing 20,000 Retirement and Extra Care properties and providing 40,000 hours of social care each week.
Housing 21 has an ambitious growth agenda with a target to build 2,100 Extra Care properties and 210 Retirement Housing properties by 2021. From 2022 and each subsequent year they will deliver 800 additional properties for older people of modest means, at least 70% of which will be affordable housing for either rent or shared ownership.

As the Property Development Manager you will manage the New Business function for Housing 21 in the South West England Region. You will build a pipeline of secured land and opportunities to deliver a growing programme reaching 1200 units per annum by 2025. You will generate multiple new opportunities for organic growth through exceptional development activity. It will be expected that good, close relationships with partners will be established and maintained whilst promoting a strong professional image of Housing 21's vision and values. You will equally develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Construction Team and Sales Team ensuring strong communication throughout each project.
To be considered for this Property Development Manager role you will possess a proven track record of identifying, securing and appraising development opportunities within the social sector. Using your market knowledge and network you will engage with key contacts including land owners, contractors and local authorities. You will excel at building relationships both externally and internally. You will possess a strong sense of social purpose and understanding of key issues surrounding social housing needs.
You do not need a Retirement and Extra Care background, a development background within a social housing provider and the attitude and willingness to learn would make you the ideal Property Development Manager.
