As part of our Revenues and Benefits shared service between City of Lincoln Council and North Kesteven District Council, we are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our Benefits team as a Benefits Appeals Officer. Whilst predominantly located at our Lincoln Office, you may be required, on occasion, to work at our offices in Sleaford.

You will be required, in line with appropriate legislation, case law and guidance, to make decisions on requests for revisions and appeals in respect of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims. You will also be responsible for making decisions on Benefit claims that have been investigated as potentially fraudulent, to prepare cases, attend hearings at Court and Tribunals Service whilst representing City of Lincoln Council, to write guidance and to provide training to Benefit Officers once training needs have been identified.
