Quality Technician**
**GBP21000/annum**
2 Shifts Available as follows:
Shift 1 - Sunday - Wednesday 06:00 - 18:00
Shift 2 - Wednesday - Saturday 06:00 - 18:00
**Responsibilities & Duties** * To ensure that all critical control points (CCP) are achieved and monitored * To ensure that all glass and plastics audits are carried out within procedures and are reported to the factory manager where issues arrive * To collect micro samples for finished products, raw materials, WIP products, shelf life and carry out micro swabbing on floors, drains, equipment and hands according to micro-schedule. To ensure that all samples are registered and sent to laboratory for testing. * To ensure out of micro results are retested according to the procedure in the place and an investigation completed with corrective actions in place * To document all process deviations and non-conforming products on the hold and reject log sheet; including raising non-conformance's, concessions, hold note, supplier rejections and supplier non-conformance's. Then follow up all those for proper corrective actions and implementations, All process deviation and nonconforming products must be recorded on the relevant logs. * To obtain Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the ingredients and issue Certificate of Conformity for products before dispatch. * To create product quality attribute sheets and specifications * To deal with daily trouble shooting within site and take necessary action to support production * To ensure that shift handover will be done properly and shift report will be completed accurately * To manage process flow audit and create necessary supporting documentation. * Preparing and planning the production for the whole factory including meat cutting, poultry production, portion control and bagging * To assist in production runs as at when needed * Carry out foreign body checks and control sheet checks, then raise deviations or task uncompleted * Carry out hygiene checks and start up check sheets * To be present during 3rd party audits, carry out internal audits and product trace-ability as and at when required * Ensure all daily documents and paperwork are checked, verified and filed .
**Requirements** * Strong technical background and proven experience in a quality assurance role * Possesses the appropriate level of technical knowledge and ability * Qualification in food science would be ideal, but not mandatory * Experience of working in a chilled and frozen food manufacturing environment * Food production and food factory auditing experience * HACCP and food safety training is a plus * Working knowledge of modern quality standards and continuous improvement techniques such as GMP, TQM or ISO * Self motivated and works well without close supervision * Proactive and assertive, be capable of making sound judgments and decisions * Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management * Able to manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines * Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to details * Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS office * Numerate and articulate and able to monitor the work activity of others * Ability to coach and mentor production operatives
