Electrical Harness Builder / Loom Builder
The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all items are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.
Key Duties & Tasks:
Undertake manufacture of conduit and concentric layered harnesses
Repair parts and equipment when needed.
Inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of Train power packs and transmissions.
Order for parts and equipment as necessary.
Liaise with agents and manufacturers on problems in order to achieve an efficient repair.
Complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply signatures as appropriate.
Identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear, and advise the Electrical Team Leader and Electrical Manager.
Undertake training as and when required.
Work within a realistic timeframe.
Have good knowledge of Automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
Work to and support all relevant 5S activities
Ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment
Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
Adhere to a line managers written or verbal reasonable instruction.
General:
Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.
Working Relationships:
•Working as part of team
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or higher
4 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Be able to work safely in an engineering/rail environment
Be able to follow written work instructions
Be technically knowledgeable in the use of equipment and machinery to do the jobMinimum 1 years experience in relevant rail or automotive industry.
Be practical and electrical mechanically oriented
Possess good problem-solving skills
