I am recruiting for an interim Prevention Officer for a 9 month assignment based in the North East.

Key responsibilities:

To work alongside the police analysing data, developing strategies and action plans that deliver tangible results and systems change in the prevention of child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation across defined geographical region.
To deliver 'tasks' bespoke to each region, which could include supporting schools, working with the police on operations, engaging with commercial bodies, writing guidance or researching interventions.
Develop partnerships and multi-agency working, including working with young people to deliver prevention interventions within the region.
To work across modern slavery, child criminal exploitation, child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation by engaging the police and a range of other professionals to raise awareness and ultimately to reduce harm to children and young people.
Develop initiatives that reduce risk for children and young people, through the prevention of CSA and CSE, ensuring safeguarding.
To research the current CSA/CSE strategy and undertake a brief analysis of its use and reach within a specified region.
To recognise and share intelligence, insight and information from the region, bringing it back to the relevant police Coordinator.
To contribute to the administration, reporting and planning of the programme by designing, delivering and evaluating programme activities to measure outcomes for young people.

The successful candidate:

Experience of delivering preventative CSE/CSA/CCE and Modern Slavery projects.
Relevant experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Experience of supporting young people (one to one and group work) who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues.
Experience of preparing documents and plans that are informed by data analysis.
Experience of partnership and multi-agency working and influencing key stakeholders.
