Benefit and Expenses Team Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Benefits & Expenses Team Manager to join us here at the home of the iconic Liverpool Echo. This role will support and provide timely, efficient and compliant services to ensure the accurate delivery of financial information. The team manager will also participate in benefit and expenses processing as appropriate and their interaction with payroll, with additional responsibilities for benefit and expenses legislation support, technical benefit & expenses support and payment processing.

Responsible for the management of both expenses and benefits for the whole Group to include:
Benefits & Expenses Maintenance & Reconciliations
o Monthly reconciliations for
- Company Cars
- Company Fuel
- Company Medical Insurance
- P11D updates
o Mileage User Type Maintenance & Reconciliation
o FX Rates maintenance
o Approved Mileage Rate maintenance
o ROI Mileage maintenance
o Responsibility for Salary Sacrifice Schemes ( excluding pension)
o Maintenance and updates of the benefit platform
Support expense technician with any required technical support and have a strong knowledge of all expense processes to include:
o Daily audits
o ROI technical support
o Authorisation chains
o Advances ,process advances and assist expenses technician to manage expenses deductions
o Expenses System Updates - Assist with system update testing
o Maintain authorisation chains
o Assistance with employee queries
o Delivery of employee training as required
o Assist with liaison with Zellis for any system queries
It is expected that the skills for this role will include strong excel skills which should be utilised to improve efficiencies across benefits and expenses
o Assistance with process and procedural reviews for continued improvements and updates
o Assistance with reporting requirements and report scoping
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced manager, with at least 12-18 months of management experience. You will have a solid understanding and technical knowledge of all areas of benefits and their interaction with payroll and expenses (including an understanding of VAT and other tax implications).
You will be an advanced Excel user, with a strong understanding of legislative rules and the ability to work accurately and to deadlines. You will be a confident and effective communicator, with the ability to manage and coach your staff to high quality performance outcomes.
A CIPP qualification is preferred, though not essential.
