Professional Affairs Manager (FPM)
London (Holborn)
£37,900 - £40,100 per annum
Fixed Term Contract - 14 months

An opportunity has come up for a 14-month maternity leave cover; starting in September 2019 within the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) team in the Faculties department at the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA).

The FPM is the professional body for doctors working with patients who live with pain and has a Board, 3 Standing Committees and a number of working parties. It values innovative thinking and fresh ideas.

The Team

The Faculties department looks after the work of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) and the FPM. The department is now 9 strong, but sits within the wider RCoA with over 100 staff.

The Role

This diverse role, supporting a number of key areas across the FPM, offers you a fantastic opportunity to expand your experience as well as work in a professional and friendly environment.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a member/customer focussed organisation and/or the medical education sector and will be an organised and confident individual with highly developed administrative skills. You will thrive on the challenge of balancing competing and changing priorities of a number of busy areas. The ability to work autonomously and proactively is essential.

The role will vary from acting as the overall lead for e-communications, ensuring the smooth delivery of the work of your team and managing the overall Board of the Faculty. You will therefore need to possess outstanding communication skills to enable you to produce excellent minutes and reports, quickly develop close working relationships with key stakeholders and represent the Faculty at external meetings.

The role also provides an opportunity to develop your project support and organisational skills through a number of standards projects for the specialty as well as acting as product owner for the website. Your team members will need you to be an approachable and positive manager.  Additionally, a methodical and conscientious approach to work is a must, as is flexibility and enthusiasm to contribute to the wider team aims.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications, we are unable to provide detailed feedback to candidates on their application. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted after the closing date.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 21 July 2019
