Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

We are recruiting for a Work Based Assessor in our Construction department to assess students as appropriate by formal or informal method as required by external examining bodies and internal procedures.

Carry out planned visits to the learner’s workplace in order to observe and direct assess the evidence required for their portfolio. Set SMART targets for each learner in conjunction with the curriculum delivery team. Contribute to curriculum development and implementation. Assists in the implementation of pastoral and welfare systems provided for students. Continues personal development in the areas of both subject knowledge and teaching/assessing methods.  Develop and maintain good working relationships with external and internal customers.

Undertakes such duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with grade at initial place of work or at other locations in the College catchment area.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 NVQ in Bricklaying and Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English. You will need to have substantial experience as a qualified tradesperson, be able to work unsupervised with a logical approach to problem solving and be able to communicate effectively with students and employers of all age groups.
