Post of House Manager

Hodgkin House is an international student house located in Clifton, Bristol,

The House provides 64 single study bedrooms for men and women which are available throughout the year. It is run by a charitable trust under the auspices of the Bristol Diocese of the Church of England.  The House exists to provide a home mainly for international postgraduate students of all faiths and none.

Applications are invited for the full-time permanent post of House Manager available from 12 August 2019. The person appointed will supervise the cleaning team on a daily basis and undertake their annual appraisals and arrange appropriate training.  The manager will be a member of the management team and will organise the reception duties and provide advice for residents.  In addition, the manager will co-ordinate any maintenance, supplies, renovation and re-furnishing of the House.  The manager is responsible for maintaining financial records and residential bookings as well as the marketing of the accommodation and maintenance of the website.  The manager will provide written reports for the bi-monthly meeting of the Trustees.

The salary will include a 5% pension contribution and will be negotiable but will be in the range of £28,515 to £37,345 per annum depending on experience.  The successful applicant will be required to live within easy daily access of the House and will have relevant experience of management in the hospitality business.
