Do you want to join an award-winning, values driven organisation?

Our client is one of the largest locally based housing organizations in the East Midlands. Across the region they manage over 9,000 homes; house more than 15,000 tenants; provide over 1,500 bed spaces for people with support/care needs, in over 250 properties; and provide more than 500,000 hours of care and support each year. They have a part-time vacancy available for a Support Worker for a Mental Health Supported Living Service.

About the service

Midworth Street is a service which provides housing and support for adults, who are over 18 with a Mental Health diagnosis, throughout Mansfield and Ashfield. The service is split across three large town houses each containing 13 individual rooms, with all three houses having shared communal space allowing the service room to provide a safe, and engaging space to support tenants.

The service provides support to enable individuals to develop their skills for independence by supporting tenants to make budgeting claims, access education and develop relationships with services such as housing official and social services.

Do you describe yourself as caring and passionate and dream of helping others?

Then this could be the job for you…

They are looking for person-centered support workers with a “can do” attitude to support people with their day to day lives to achieve greater independence and well being; you will need to be positive thinking, resourceful and resilient.

They believe it’s not about what the work experience you have, but about the person you are. Although previous experience in care is always desirable, they also welcome people who are seeking a new career in care, as plenty of training will be provided. You will be given an in depth induction and help towards obtaining your Care Certificate.

Every day is different!

You will be working closely in a team with 12 other staff to support tenants at the project and be expected to key work tenants and to create and maintain tailored support plans once you are settled in. Support provided will include but not limited to:

Working with tenant’s families, carers and friends to develop and maintain support networks.
Produce, review and update support plans in partnership with tenants/service users and staff.
Support tenant/service user to make choices and decisions about their lives.
Maintain a safe and healthy physical environment for tenants/service users and staff.
