Selwyn College is looking to appoint a new gardener, to join the college gardens team on a full time basis.

Gardener
Salary:
£17,550 - £19,814 per annum (depending on skills, knowledge and experience).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Contract Type: Permanent, subject to six months’ probation.
Based: Cambridge

The successful applicant will report to the head gardener and will be responsible for the continued upkeep of the gardens, greenhouse production and helping with the ongoing design work and regeneration of the grounds.

The successful applicant will possess a broad plant knowledge, a recognised horticultural qualification and will have prior experience of working with a wide range of horticultural machinery. Applicants must be able to demonstrate good team working skills, organisation skills, as well as a good understanding of health and safety and the benefits of plants on the college and its users. A full UK driving licence and PA1 and PA6A spraying certificates are desirable.

There is the opportunity for further training in the future as well as salary progression through performance-based increments. In addition, the College offers excellent benefits including an occupational final salary pension scheme and subsidised meals.
