General Insurance Development Manager (Desk Based)


To work between the Financial Services division and the Property Management departments, liaising with clients from the whole of the Group database and assisting them with their General Insurance needs, including Buildings and Contents Insurance. To make all customers aware of the other services provided by the company and to refer leads and secure appointments for areas of the business where appropriate.


Working from the company database, contacting clients to offer a quote for their general insurance needs.
To reach monthly target's set for calls made, policies sold and leads passed.
Providing help and advice on the products that our providers offer, assisting clients to choose the one that suits their needs.
Communicating professionally with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face
Using the company computer system (Revolution) to add client's details, quotes and set up their Insurance Policies.
Uploading accurate file notes to the Start computer system of discussions or correspondence with customers;
Following the compliance procedures of wider Group (regulator). To set up policies and provide the client with the relevant paperwork that is required under the agreement with company policy.
Securing leads for and passing these leads to the relevant person or Department.
Following up phone calls and leads using a diary management system, where necessary.
To put review dates into the computer system (Revolution) to contact clients in the future when their current policy/s come to an end.
To build up a client retention database to contact each year to assess their General Insurance needs to see what is available for them on each renewal.
Learning about your organisation's products or services and keeping up to date with changes.

Knowledge & skills required:

Products - To have an overview of the products that the firm provide and an in-depth knowledge of all of the departments within the group. To understand what products all of our General Insurance providers offer.
Customer Service and Treating Customer Fairly (TCF) - To have the ability to provide excellent customer service to all clients. To listen and assist with their needs. To follow the TCF guidelines. See attached document.
Personal - To be professional and courteous to staff, able to communicate with their regulators and Insurance providers in a useful and professional manor. To take pride in your work, appearance and work place.
Selling - To know how to ask opening questions and have confidence in selling General Insurance to our clients. Finding out how else you can assist the customer in discussing/selling the other services that we offer.
Training - To receive full training from their regulator in using their computer system and selling the products their providers offer.
Compliance - To follow the strict rules and compliance needs. To be closely monitored and respond to any request for paperwork from their regulator when requested.


Up to GBP25k Basic + Uncapped Bonus and Benefits. OTE GBP50k+
