Childhood First is a charity with a long and successful history of providing integrated programmes of care, education and treatment for traumatised Children and young people with complex emotional and psychological needs. Gables House is a specialist residential children's home providing a programme of care, treatment and education for a group of four children aged between 10 to 14 years.
The postholder will provide support in ensuring that the residential therapeutic care environment is developed and maintained by striving for continuous improvement and outcomes for each child and young person. The Team Leader will lead a team of Therapeutic Care Workers in the delivery of first class therapeutic child care whilst ensuring compliance with organisational and statutory policies and current legislation.
We are seeking an experienced residential childcare practitioner with knowledge of therapeutic or psychodynamic principles to join the senior team at Gables House. The successful candidate will participate in delivering the highest standards of care, protection and support to children and facilitate their holistic development through the application of Integrated Systemic Therapy (IST).
Candidates will preferably hold a QCF level 3 in child care or equivalent and will have experience of or be committed to undertaking training in providing effective line management, supervision and clinical guidance to therapeutic care staff. You will also be committed to working with stakeholders and partner agencies.
