Job description

NewDay is seeking a Specialist in Treasury to join its London office.

 

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities involve the following:

  • analytics, spreadsheet work, model building, reporting, presentations and communications with third parties;
  • building, enhancing and automating cash and liquidity management models and analysis tools;
  • assisting in the design, execution and ownership of all cash management, liquidity planning and cash forecasting responsibilities;
  • maintaining and enhancing the cash model and monitor cash on a daily basis;
  • managing the production of the monthly ALCO pack, perform Working Group ALCO secretarial duties as required;
  • assisting in the implementation, monitoring and reporting of NewDay’s cash investment strategy;
  • overseeing NewDay’s bank account structure;
  • participating in the Treasury Liquidity forum, providing liquidity, funding or reporting perspectives;
  • ensuring relevant policies and procedures are updated and in compliance with internal risk and control standards;
  • building and maintaining thorough knowledge and understanding of NewDay’s securitisation structures;
  • being responsible for daily securitisation monitoring and model preparation;
  • being responsible for monthly securitisation reporting for public and private investors;
  • assisting Finance team in preparation and monitoring of associated accounting entries to the General Ledger;
  • developing strong relationships with Treasury, Finance, Business Intelligence and Operations in order to ensure accurate reporting of structures;
  • contributing to building models and business processes in respect of new securitisation structures;
  • assisting in the design, execution and sale of new securitisation funding structures (includes potential rating agency work, data management, presentation creation, engagement with internal and external parties needed for execution, setting up necessary infrastructure such as bank account, tracking budgets and other administrative duties)
  • leading appropriate Treasury projects, facilitating issue resolution and providing recommendations to senior stakeholders;
  • supporting the implementation of Treasury IT infrastructure;
  • working with colleagues in Funding and Reporting teams, as well as key stakeholders within the wider Finance group; and
  • assisting in the development and enhancement of Securitisation Reporting function.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • a University degree with a minimum of 2:1;
  • an accounting qualification (partial or full);
  • relevant knowledge of how credit card securitisation structures, and related investor/rating agency reports, work;
  • the ability to code in VBA;
  • relevant experience in modelling (cash flow, financial, etc.);
  • relevant experience with securitisation legal documentation;
  • knowledge of other areas of Treasury;
  • good decision making skills;
  • a first class analytical mind with strong logical thinking and strong problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail;
  • an inquisitive nature;
  • be able to take responsibility and needs limited oversight to accomplish projects; a self-starter;
  • first class communication skills for managing key internal and external stakeholders;
  • the ability to multi-task assignments and prioritise their workload with limited supervision;
  • demonstrate resilience under pressure and with the ability to deliver to deadlines;
  • the ability to demonstrate an innovative mind set that can develop ideas which are implemented and have a positive impact; and
  • be a team player who has the ability to lead and follow and can build strong relationships with a broad variety of stakeholders
