We’re now looking for a number of Support Workers to join us on a full time, part time or relief basis. Waking night shifts are also available at an enhanced rate.

If not, we’ll help you get your driving and whilst you do, you will provide great care at one of our homes. 

Your Role 

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key and crucial role in the support and wellbeing of people across Somerton with learning difficulties and/or autism. 

Working within our supported living services or travelling to the homes of the people that we support, you’ll provide a caring, compassionate service in which you will be sensitive to each person’s individual needs. 

You’ll focus on the quality of your service and your treatment of those using our services, understanding that your input will change lives and will make a huge difference to the day-to-day aspects of each person that we support. 

With no two days the same, you will: 

- Set challenging goals for the people that we support to positively affect the eight key areas for their quality of life 
- Help to design support services 
- Develop and deliver support plans 
- Assist and encourage people in their day-to-day activities such as shopping and housework 
- Help people to manage and plan with money, in activities such as booking holidays 
- Build trust and rapport with the people that we support, their families and your colleagues 
- Support, encourage and teach people to look after themselves and complete personal and intimate care activities 
- Maintain written and IT records 

About You 

Although no experience is required, to be considered as a Support Worker, you will need to be: 

- Eager to learn 
- Compassionate 
- Supportive 

The ideal candidate will possess a driving licence (in order to travel to the homes of the people that we support), however this is by no means essential as other locations are available and support can be provided to gain your driving licence. 

Applications from experienced Support Workers will also be welcomed, however less experienced candidates will be evaluated fairly no matter what their level of qualification or experience.
