This is an incredibly exciting and dynamic time for the National Trust, already one of the UK's most iconic brands. The impact of your work will resonate throughout the Trust, moving us ever closer to our vision of becoming a truly people-centric and insight-led organisation.

This role will work in the People Services department analysing all the Trust's People data. We're keen to evolve the way we use People data so are expanding our capabilities to analyse, present and share our data, primarily using Tableau and Alteryx. We need to move away from producing static reports and move to engaging, insightful data visualisations that will drive improvements to our People processes. The most important thing is that you'll be curious - wanting to learn more about our people - and confident in exploring all of our data to pull out the truly actionable insight.

What you'll be doing

Through analysis, the role will determine the root cause of current and emerging workforce issues, and drive improvements and innovation across HR and business processes, so role holders will have to be curious and excited by investigation with the ability to identify relationships across a number of different people indicators.

They will also need an understanding of people indicators and how they translate the overall health of the organisation, coupled with persuasive communication skills and an ability to demonstrate the ability to link strategic goals with operational and financial information in order to facilitate holistic decision making.

This role will report to the People MI and Systems manager, but the Trust has a rapidly evolving community of analysts who share experience and support each other to enhance the analytical skills throughout the Trust.

Who we're looking for

The most important thing is curiosity! You have to want to come to work every day wanting to learn something new about our people through your analyses. This is a new role, so you'll need experience of performing statistical analysis of data and combining that with other data sources to generate new insights so in order to be successful you'll need to have;

  • Experience of analysing complicated datasets and taking the learning from those analyses to inform future actions
  • A real passion for using data and analytics to understand, explain and predict business performance
  • Experience working in a People/HR role
  • Strong analytical skills and experience

Whilst being an analyst really confident in the use of statistics, you'll also excel at selling - selling the value of your insight into the wider organisation to drive change through simple and compelling data visualisation, presentations and reports.
