Satarah Recruitment are supporting The Good Loaf who need a hands on, reliable and motivated person to join their team in Kettering. They aren't your average caf?? as they aim to provide real employment opportunities to vulnerable local women in order to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment and offending. Having empathy for their social aims and collaboration in making this happen is a must. The business model at this branch largely relies on catering for private events which will enable us to work alongside service users and volunteers in empowering them to reach their full potential whilst striving for excellence in everything they do.

This branch is located on the beautiful Warren Hill Estate which was originally a quarry and later a timber estate. In the 1930s a crematorium was built and more recently further improved with an outside garden area and pavilion to host weddings. Our caf?? provides a take away service for passing custom and sit down dining for bookings.

Key Tasks:
Business:
• To respond swiftly to enquiries made regarding our service.
• To plan, promote and host profitable external and internal events.
• To support with the development of the business.
• To manage stock and to analyse waste within a budget.
• To ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, and any non-compliance is addressed as a matter of urgency.
Social:
• To support service users on placement in the development of vocational skills as appropriate to the learner.
• To maintain excellent relationships to aid successful completion of work placements.
• To maintain systems for monitoring service users on placement including observation records and to assist in the completion of log books.
• To monitor the quality of the work delivered by community payback workers.
• To identify training needs within the staff and volunteer teams and to support in addressing them appropriately.

Key Factors for Selection Essential Criteria:
• Relevant experience of working in the hospitality/catering trade.
• Willingness to work in a flexible shift pattern in line with the needs of the business.
• Proven track record of being able to work with minimum supervision, and demonstrate self-motivation, proven track record of being able to work as part of a team.
• Strong administration skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Commitment to high standards of confidentiality, data protection and information non-disclosure protocols.

Experience required:
• Experience of support work or similar.
• Experience of working with teams using strength-based approaches.

• Well-developed interpersonal & communication skills.
• Willingness to work with ex-offenders and empathy with the organization's aims.
• An awareness of equality and diversity issues as well as the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals and demonstrate sensitivity and tolerance towards the beliefs and behaviour of others.

Condition of Employment:
• Appointment and continuing employment will be subject to the granting and maintaining of a satisfactory DBS status and 2 suitable references. Staff are required to ensure immediate notification to their line manager of any personal involvement in criminal justice services.
• A willingness to disclose any welfare issues that may bring the organisation into the public light.
