Do you have what it takes to be part of our exciting, sector leading legacy team?

Here at Cancer Research UK, we're game changers, developing newer, kinder treatments and getting closer to cures every day, doubling survival rates in the last 40 years. We're so excited by the work we do and the potential it holds and we're looking for an exceptional individual to join us. We have ambitious plans and, within our Legacy Supporter Engagement team, a rare opportunity for a brilliant, experienced people manager to help lead our regional legacy team. The team is dynamic, ambitious and motivated and we thrive on working together, helping each other and concentrating on shared goals and values.

Our regional team is vital in helping people support Cancer Research UK's mission to move to 3 in 4 people surviving their cancer diagnosis by 2034 so if you are driven, talented and excited by the chance to use your outstanding skills to help secure a future free from the fear of cancer then we want to hear from you.

For this role you will need to understand the needs of our legacy audience and have experience of managing remotely based staff in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will also need experience in managing multiple projects and will need to be pro-active with a keen eye for detail and outstanding communication skills. This role will require lots of energy as a substantial amount of travel is involved - this is not a nine to five job. You'll need to be brave and you won't be afraid to try new ideas or of working hard towards a common goal.

It will be your job to motivate your team to provide outstanding stewardship to our current supporters, drive retention and secure acquisition at a community level. You'll be part of the Legacy Supporter Engagement management team and will need to work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure cohesion across the team.

Every day we achieve extraordinary things by being innovative, imaginative and bold in our work.

Join us today and as an Area Legacy Manager you will help pioneer more tomorrows through your...

  • Demonstrable ability to motivate and influence a remotely based team
  • Proven experience in driving income growth preferably within a legacy environment
  • Knowledge of legacy fundraising methodology
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a pressured environment
  • Ability to identify the best use of time and resources, and organise own tasks day-to-day
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic approach to each new challenge
