Programme Lead. 29.6 hours per week. Permanent.

An opportunity has arisen in the Performing Arts department for a Musical Theatre specialist to lead and deliver on the Level 3 and 4 Musical Theatre programmes.  In addition, there will be opportunities to teach across our range of innovative degree programmes.

We are looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic individual who will be able to promote, maintain and develop the current highly successful provision. With exceptional success rates and students gaining places at top UK conservatoires, you will have industry knowledge and experience in staging Musical Theatre and be able to support students in their progression to industry.

You will have a full teaching qualification and be educated to degree level (or equivalent) along with previous teaching experience preferably at HE level. You will also hold a Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Level 4 or above or equivalent).

As a Programme Lead you will be required to sustain and develop high quality teaching and learning along with leading in a vibrant schedule of student productions and maintain and develop links with professional theatres, companies and the commercial sector locally, regionally and nationally.

With a broad range of skills and knowledge in musical theatre, singing and acting you will lead modules and deliver at Levels 3 and 4 in the following areas:

  • Musical Theatre Performance (Major Production Projects)
  • Singing
  • Acting techniques
  • Rehearsing and devising theatre
  • Additional dance/choreography skills would be useful.
