Youth Intervention Specialist (Heartlands Hospital)
We are looking for a Youth Intervention Specialist to join us and work with young victims of violence and exploitation in the ‘teachable moment’, empowering them to make positive choices, with the help of our partner agencies, to establish long-term change.
Redthread works with vulnerable young people in crisis. Whether they have been the victim of a stabbing, are seeking support for anxiety, have suffered a sexual assault, or want to find a new home beyond the reach of a gang, we support them to overcome the challenges they face through our dynamic youth work programmes.
We launched our Birmingham service in July 2018 and are looking for an exceptional professional to join the team who is keen to learn, with proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people, and the capacity to form effective working relationships with a wide range of partners and agencies. The role is based in the Emergency Department of Heartlands Hospital. Our work was recently featured on BBC News which gives a taster of what we do (https://vimeo.com/241223288).
“Redthread youth workers are doing an incredible job helping young victims to move away from the circles that led to them getting hurt” (Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, July 2016)
