Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks

Role Summary

Seashell Trust is looking for an inspirational Registered Manager to join our innovative and ambitious organisation for our Seashell Trust Community Health Team.

Seashell Trust is a national charity supporting children and young adults with severe, profound and complex learning disabilities, sensory impairment and additional communication and physical needs from across the UK. We provide care and education, for children aged 3-18 years old and young adults aged 19-25 years old.

This is a newly created position as part of our integrated support for children and young people with health needs and will be responsible for the set-up of the new registration for the health team.  This position will be part of a 7 day on call rota, and flexibility to do evening and weekend shifts is required.

The role will manage a team of health professionals from a range of disciplines across Therapy, Audiology and Nursing.

The Registered Manager for Seashell Community Health Team will work within and quality assure the healthcare delivered against CQC’s Fundamental Standards for the regulated activity of treatment of disease, disorder and injury (TDDI), health professionals registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and any additional relevant legislation within education and care services.

The Registered Manager for Seashell Community Health Team will hold the registration under CQC guidelines.  This is a new registration so the Registered Manager will also be responsible for setting up the registration for the Seashell Trust Community Health Team.

Experience

• Experience of working as an advanced health professional with children and/or adults with profound communication impairments, including people who are non-verbal.

Education and training

• Recognised Health Professional Speech and Language/OT/Physiotherapy/Nursing Degree
• Masters Degree in Health Profession related subject
• Registered member of(RCSLT/COT/CSP, NMC) / Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC),
• GCSE or other relevant qualification in English and Mathematics
• Level 2 IT qualification of commitment to undertake qualification
• Management and Leadership Qualification or willingness to undertake

Skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of Education, Health and Social Care Policy and directives where these impact on areas of specialism or service delivery

Additional requirements

• Ability to undertake tasks involving/requiring physically active sessions and dexterity
• Regular requirement to support service users with challenging behaviour
• Ability to contribute to outreach support in a variety of environments
• Car driver and willingness to use own car in line with Trusts Safe Driving Policy
• Demonstrates ability to be a good team member
