Support Worker (Learning Disabilities Services)


£22,317 per annum, pro rata

Part time - 18 hours per week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join them in Northallerton.

They provide a comprehensive range of services to over 6000 homes in North Yorkshire, a number that continues to grow with the delivery of their ambitious development strategy, supporting a vision to become the best rural housing provider in the country.

This role involves being a key worker and team member in the provision of intensive housing and support services to vulnerable people living in their own homes within designated supported housing schemes. The aim is to promote independence and to facilitate the move into unsupported housing provision. As a support worker you will intervene at times of crisis to prevent a move into a high support environment such as a hospital all whilst assisting in the delivery of excellent customer focused services.

The successful person will have:


  • A minimum of one year working with the designated service-user group
  • Excellent naturalistic observation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and being able to work with service-users, colleagues, families and external individuals.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good motivational skills, being able to encourage residents to maximise their opportunities.
  • A good understanding of the principles of practice in working with vulnerable people.
  • NVQ level II in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
