Faculty / Directorate
The Estates & Facilities directorate manage the upkeep of a large number of buildings including grounds and car parks. It is an essential mission to ensure these are maintained to a high standard and with further developments on campus it is an exciting time to be part of the Estates Team. We are therefore looking for both experience and passion in helping to deliver a first-class environment.
Role
The role is to assist in the supervision of ‘in-house’ and contract labour for reactive buildings and grounds maintenance and manage assigned building and/or grounds works. Implement, develop and manage planned preventative maintenance programmes and compliance checks with due regard to the Universities health and safety policies. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Trades person with previous experience of working in the building industry and looking to forward their career.
Ideal Candidate
The role would suit someone who is self-motivated, has a confident and friendly approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team attending work outside of normal working hours when necessary. An NVQ level 3 in a building trade related discipline with experience in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook and budget management are essential along with the knowledge of Health and Safety legislative compliance requirements related to the role.
