Workshop Technician - Peterborough
Initial 6-month contract - up to GBP17 per hour (Limited or Umbrella contract basis)
Are you experienced in cutting and shaping metal? Maybe you've worked in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, working with both fixed and hand tools? Are you a hands-on person? If yes, this could be what you're looking for???
Our client, a major diesel engine manufacturer based in Peterborough are looking for a Technician to work in their dedicated, state of the art facility, working on the preparation of metallic component samples for their materials analysis team.
What would you do?
Use fixed and hand tools like bandsaws, oxy cutters, grinders etc. to prepare and inspect samples
Help develop processes to cut up metal and other materials.
Provide input into project assignments and solve common manufacturing process problems
Work independently to maintain and improve manufacturing engineering processes
What are we looking for?
Ideally apprentice qualified in a manufacturing environment or similar
Ideally prior experience working in a machining, assembly, fabrication, heat treat processing, metallurgy and/or materials systems position
