Our client is one of the largest independent aerospace and defence companies in the world, delivering innovation and excellence in engineer, support solutions and services in the air, land and at sea.
They are now looking for a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage the full end to end supply chain activities, ensuring a cost-effective service to the business.
Location: Cambridge

The ideal candidate will manage and direct the resources, facilities, functions and skills of the Supply Chain to provide effective support across the Military Aerospace business. This role will include the management and organisation of operational purchasing, inventory management, warehouse management and demand management & fulfilment.
You will manage supplier performance measurement, supplier operational reviews and supplier negotiations as well as dealing with all issues relating to the Purchase to Pay process.
The development of staff including appraisals and improving performance, whilst always ensuring resources meet the needs of the business, will be another key responsibility.
You will represent the Procurement & Supply Chain function at meetings with board and senior management as well as providing guidance and specialist advice to the business on all Purchasing matters such that the business is contracting and operating within a safe commercial framework.
Overall, you will ensure that the supply chain delivers against its objectives, analyse and deliver improvements and work closely with a number of teams including; Quality, Commercial, Design, Planning, Marketing, Production & Manufacturing.
Our ideal candidate will have/be;
Previous experience of working in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment, preferably within Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial or Technology.
MCIPS would be preferred
Experience of managing teams in Purchasing and Supply Chain
Experience of working in a complex matrix business
Commercially astute
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
