Salary: Dependent on experience
As a Paralegal in the Oxford Corporate team you will support our partners and fee earners with a range of administrative and transactional work.
To earn fees by carrying out legal work under supervision and supporting the team by carrying out administrative work where required. To actively participate in marketing the department's services and undertake business development activities when required.
Paralegal Duties will include:
* Carry out routine file management tasks including file opening and billing
* Provide transaction support, under supervision, with tasks such as:
* Document filings
* Preparing bundles
* Post-completion matters including preparing transaction bibles
* Photocopying and scanning
* Support fee earners with administrative duties associated with this role, including filing, correspondence and other document management
* Draft and review ancillary legal documents including companies house forms, board minutes, powers of attorney, stock transfer forms and share registers using appropriate precedents and templates
* Undertake effective legal research, using appropriate methods and sourcing, presenting the results accurately and clearly
* Meet and exceed client service needs in all aspects of work
* Learn firm policies and business processes, ensuring compliance particularly with regards to confidentiality, security, data protection and file retention and destruction requirements
* Undertake all training relating to risk & compliance, keeping up to date with changes and best practice
* Ensure all work complies with risk management policies and procedures, including effective use of information management systems (including storing and retrieving information)
Paralegal Skills & Experience:
* Legal qualifications (LLB or cILEX). LPC is desirable
* Previous experience within a Paralegal role in a corporate department
* Excellent organisational capability with excellent attention to detail
* Client service focused
* Ability to undertake legal work under supervision
