Key Responsibility Areas

Product development responsibilities will cover the full life cycle from requirement capture through prototyping, schematic capture & simulation, supporting PCB Layout & manufacture to build, test and qualification. You will be working as part of a multi-discipline IPT and a strong working relationship with other functions will be essential.

You will be expected to help develop junior engineers by sharing your experience through coaching and formal review of their work.

You will also be responsible for leading functional design reviews and Route Cause and Corrective Action investigations.

This will be a demanding and fast moving role with a high degree of customer focus.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

* A degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related engineering/science subjects.

* A broad experience of electronics design across a range of domains, e.g.: power supplies & filters, control systems, precision analogue electronics, electro-optics, mixed-signal design, FPGAs, high speed digital interfaces, EMC design

* Expert level domain knowledge in at least one of the above areas

* Solid understanding of design analysis tools & techniques e.g. Spice, Simetrix, Signal Integrity analysis.

* Expertise working with industry standard ECAD tools e.g. Mentor

* Experience in LRU and System level integration and debug.

* Experience of DFx (designing for cost, test and manufacturability)

* Good problem solving skills with a proven ability to resolve integration problems in conjunction with other engineering disciplines.

* Coaching and mentoring skills

* A proven background in working with external suppliers and customers.

* A willingness to work within a fast moving and dynamic environment.

* Good team player with a willingness to share ideas, communicate well within an IPT environment and help develop less experienced engineers.

* Electro-Optics experience beneficial.

* This is a broad based role suited to an individual who can work effectively in a team, with great powers to influence others and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

* This is an office, laboratory and factory based role using display screen equipment and test equipment.
