Our Banking and Finance practice act for major banks, other financial institutions, borrowers and a number of commercial clients in the manufacturing, leisure, retail and healthcare sectors to provide a full range of advice on finance matters from bilateral and LMA based club transactions, asset, acquisition, project and property finance to restructurings and refinancing. We get to the heart of our clients' business to truly understand their sectors, strategic goals and vision.

The team are now looking for a talented lawyer to join them in Southampton. With a strong rating in Chambers, and an enviable FTSE 250 client list, this is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary banking practice with national reach.

So what will you be doing?

Working closely alongside Chambers rated Partner Graham Jeffries , you'll provide high quality and specialist advice across a diverse work stream from transactions such as advising Chemring on its UK debt facilities in relation to its GBP140m refinancing, to advising specialist development finance funds in relation to the provision of facilities to fund the development of a diverse class of assets ranging from wind turbines to hotels.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll be a newly qualified lawyer keen to specialise in banking law who has had exposure to quality banking or corporate work during your training contract from a regional or city firm. However we're also very interested to hear from banking lawyers with one or two years experience in a broad range of banking and finance work. Whichever your level, you'll be able to work collaboratively, bring intellectual rigour and an incisive approach to sometimes challenging and complex issues. You'll have an analytical mind and enjoy the intellectual challenge that this work presents dealing across a variety of transactions. Your pragmatism and commercial outlook together with excellent drafting skills will be vital in supporting our clients.

So what's in it for you?

This is a great opportunity to join a client centric team on an upward trajectory and to work with leaders in their field who are excited and motivated by the vision to compete on a national platform.

We'll support your career path through our lawyer career framework, with a collaborative approach, a strong team ethos and a commitment to development both professionally and personally.

In addition, through our D&I practices and programmes we work hard to ensure that difference is visibly valued and welcomed. Visit our D&I page to find out more.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
