The Team

We are looking to recruit a Pricing Manager to join our established pricing team.

The pricing team, led by our Head of Pricing, sits within the wider Commercial team and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the firm's strategic pricing policy. The main focus of the pricing team is to work with the service delivery teams in structuring pricing proposals for both panel and transactional submissions.

The Commercial team is a newly established team that consists of Pricing, Resource Managers, Legal Project Managers and Commercial Managers, headed up by the Commercial Director.

The Pricing Manager will play an integral part of driving the continuous improvement of the pricing team and it's collaboration with the wider commercial team.

The Role

The Pricing Manager is business and client facing and will require frequent contact with key stakeholders and senior colleagues.

The detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Work with Partners and other key stakeholders to prepare panel and transaction pricing proposals within EMEA
Proactively encourage partners to offer more innovative Alternative Fee Arrangements
Form a commercial view of the client, including profitability analysis, rates analysis, past matter analysis, benchmarking and strategic importance to both the partner and the firm
Write business cases to support the submission of pricing proposals to the Pricing Approval Board
Provide pricing support for global pricing proposals
Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing decisions
Support the application of the firm wide pricing policy and monitor compliance with the policy
Assist partners in understanding financial performance of their practice through the various pricing levers
Own and deliver pricing projects as they arise
Support partners in developing negotiation strategy and attending client negotiations on behalf of the firm
Assisting with the annual rates review
Keep abreast of industry trends.

Skills and Experience Required

Work Experience

A solid grounding and experience in commercial business
Knowledge of professional service business models could be advantageous
Experience of working in pricing or commercial roles
Experience of working in a fast growing global organization (desirable)

Education

Educated to a degree level

Skills

Advanced MS Excel
Experience of enterprise reporting systems
Experience of SAP and Tableau (desirable)
A general high level of computer literacy and competence
Strong presentation skills
Good problem solver with a logical and methodical approach to issues
Proven analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and work with large and complex volumes of data
Proven ability to multi-task

Personal Presentation

Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to build relationships with and influence senior stakeholders
Ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance personnel
Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative and learn
