Nightshift HGV Technician
cGBP36,000.00 per annum DOE
(cGBP15.00 per hour and cGBP22.50 per hour for anything above 40 hours)

We are seeking a Nightshift HGV Mechanic for our client's business based in Preston. The company has been established for over 60 years and are experts in the manufacture and supply of light and heavy commercial vehicles; they offer a comprehensive range of services including contract maintenance and hire across numerous industries, this, coupled with their engineering expertise and outstanding customer service ensures that they are continuously a market leader.
They are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic (RCV Technician) to join their existing Nightshift team who will work on municipal vehicles including gritters, recycle and refuse collection vehicles. We are very much looking for a team player to fill this role, someone who will be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines.
You must have previous HGV technical experience and be able to adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role to ensure continued high levels of work are carried out right first time.
Qualified through City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Motor Vehicle Mechanics (Level 3) would be considered an advantage, however qualified by experience/time-served mechanics will be taken into account, additionally, possessing either a Class 1 or Class 2 License would be deemed a benefit
Duties:
* Carry out inspection, servicing, repairs and testing of Refuse and Waste Collection Vehicles in a professional and safe manner
* Investigate and diagnose faults on Refuse and Waste Collection Vehicles
* Report findings
* Complete inspection sheets and time sheets
* Liaise with the Parts Department to ensure the correct parts are ordered
* Carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers' standards
* Maintain health and safety standards and general housekeeping
Additional Info:
* Hours of work: 16:00 - 02:00 Monday to Thursday and 14:00 - 18:00 on a Friday
* cGBP15.00 per hour, 40 hours paid at the standard rate per hour + 2 hours paid at overtime rate of time and a half cGBP22.50 per hour = GBP33,540.00 per annum
* The occasional Saturday may be required due to workload which will be paid at overtime (possibly 1 in 4)
* (GBP22.50 per hour x 8.5 hours x 12 Saturdays per year) = GBP2295.00 per annum
* Free parking
