Mechanical Design Engineer - Somerset - Up To GBP40,000 Per Annum
Due to continued growth, my client has begun the search for an additional Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The company was founded 40 years ago and still retains its family feel within their business that now stands at over 50 staff. They are based in the Somerset, in the South West of England, but serve customers all over the world.
This company specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of bespoke machinery for a number of industries including aerospace, automation and nuclear. Within these sectors, they offer a wide range of solutions including aluminium extrusions, composites, cutting tools and robotics.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take the lead on projects from the Design, Build, and testing of their automated machines. You will be working very closely with their Production team to bring the products to life so having a solid knowledge of manufacturing processes is essential to ensure accurate drawings.
From a design aspect, you must be proficient with Solidworks 3D CAD package and hold a good knowledge of materials and fluids. Your role will cover a mix of new product development and product redesign/customisation, so the ability to manage multiple projects at once would be a distinct advantage.
