Supply Chain Manager Job role

A Supply Chain Manager with strategic, full 'end to end' supply chain management experience is required for our client within the Defence sector on a permanent based in North West

Overview of the Supply Chain Manager role

The main focus of the role is to develop consolidation, streamline processes and ensure the smooth running of the supply chain in a fast- moving, challenging environment to ensure on time delivery, budget and quality.

* The objective of this key supply chain management role is to achieve a high performing sustainable supply chain by developing a capable supply base in order to ensure goods On Time, on Cost and on Quality.

* Supply Chain Management shall inform the business of the supplier capability, strengths and weaknesses, manage further evaluation, risk assessment and undertake mitigation action through continuous improvement activities.

* The role delivers manufacturing sustainment capability through supplier performance analysis to ensure robustness throughout the production phase and the supply chain as a whole.

* The role will involve significant levels of supply chain risk management through the proactive collection and analysis of risk intelligence and the prevention and treatment of risk through the supply chain

* The role will include supply chain management support to industrial validation activities; during development phases; during the production phases, including reviewing the supplier Surveillance Plan.

Key skills required for the Supply Chain Manager

* Supply chain experience at a managerial level within Aerospace or Defence or engineering markets are needed for this role.

* MCIPS and/or degree qualified would be highly advantageous for this role.

* Enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable individual able to deal with complex situations and effectively influence senior stakeholders.

* A natural communicator, able to build strong relationships, with experience in driving multi-functional teams and delivering to tight time-scales.

* Strong relationship management and negotiation skills with the ability to lead and influence key stakeholders and suppliers and someone who has a keen eye for detail.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office IT packages (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).

Although predominantly office based, the role may require travel to different sites within the company.

The role is based near Bolton, Lancashire commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Lostock, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
