Commercial Business Partner - Band 8C

(GBP68,554-GBP79,374 - inclusive of London Weighting)

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust provides acute and specialist healthcare in north west London for around a million and a half people every year. Formed in 2007, we are one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, with nearly 11,000 staff.

Our five hospitals - Charing Cross , Hammersmith , Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea , St Mary's and The Western Eye - have a long track record in research and education, influencing clinical practice nationally and worldwide. We also have a growing number of community services and provide private healthcare in dedicated facilities on all of our sites, including at the Lindo Wing at St Mary's.

With our partners, Imperial College London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre.

This is an exceptional opportunity which has been newly created to support the Trusts longer term commercial strategy. Reporting into the Associate Director of Finance: Business Partnering, this role is highly exposed within the organisation and will be required to influence and drive change across the business. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Commercial Director in sustainable and effective growth of the Trust's commercial portfolio, including private patients, development of intellectual property and other business growth.
  • Provide strategic advice on the development of business cases working closely with wider teams to advise viability and profitability of services.
  • Undertake a comprehensive financial management service of the commercial division, including forecasting, reporting and highlighting key issues.

The successful candidate will be an intelligent, qualified accountant who has enjoyed a progressive career and have outstanding communication skills, a passion for best practice and high caliber influencing skills. It is likely you will have gained your professional experience from a commercial role within the public sector or from a commercially focused business where you will have been exposed to pricing, negotiation and financial modelling. Having a background in Private Healthcare would also be advantageous. This is a fantastic opportunity to support an established organisation in such a key aspect of their longer term financial strategy.
