Vehicle Repair Technician

Forde Automotive are looking for experienced and confident Vehicle Technicians to work alongside our client, a leading national automotive company, in a new project they are starting to further enhance their customer experience. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new development in the business, where you can really take ownership of your skilled work and have the responsibility to manage your own work load.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 0830 to 1730 and every other Saturday.
Main duties can include but are not limited to:
* Undertake a high standard of effective and safe inspections and repairs on vehicles both private and commercial at the scene of the agreed location.
* Ensure the optimum use of time and costs when undertaking this work.
* Build and maintain professional relationships with partnered workshops / garages.
* Maintain a high standard of driving, courtesy and effectiveness in dealing with customers and the general public and uphold our clients image with an appropriate awareness of personal and customer's safety at all times.
* Keep up to date of technological and safety developments as they affect the diagnosis and repair of motor vehicles by maintaining an appropriate awareness of information circulated.
* Maintain a thorough knowledge of all types of vehicles.
* Take details of traffic accidents which may be witnessed or encountered and report, in accordance with laid down procedures, as necessary. Undertake all necessary action at the scene until relieved by emergency services.
* Where possible and without undue risk remove the vehicle from the road, or make safe of any hazards to vehicles and road users. Promptly report those which require police or highway authority action.
* Maintain a high standard of serviceability and cleanliness of all vehicles, tools and equipment issued for individual use.
* Maintain accurate records of all paperwork necessary to ensure satisfactory job performance in accordance with current procedures.
What we need from you:
* Basic knowledge of motoring law and ability to give evidence in court as required.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills - you will be dealing with general public under all conditions.
* Level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics
* Full UK Driving Licence - to meet insurance requirements you must have no more than 6 points.
