Trainee Laboratory Technician
We are looking for a Trainee Laboratory Technician for a client based in the Dover area. The Trainee Technician will primarily assist technicians in the analytical chemistry department. There will also be a requirement to work in the physical test laboratory. In addition to laboratory work, the appointee will assist in developing and writing test protocols, methods and reports. The post will be supervised by the Laboratory Team Leader. It requires the ability to carry out repetitive work very accurately.
Accurate laboratory work under guidance
Preparation of samples for chemical analysis (HPLC, GCMS, GFAAF, etc.)
Maintenance of records of work
Physical testing: tensile, pressure tests and flow tests.
Research ISO, USP and ASTM test methods and standards.
Support development of test protocols in collaboration with colleagues and clients
Support development of test reports in collaboration with colleagues and clients, working to the highest scientific and grammatical standards
Assist in laboratory cleaning and preparation
Accurately record test data
Maintain meticulous records
Understand and implement company quality systems and procedures
Comply with safe equipment and laboratory use
Follow Standard Operating procedures and suggest ways to improve processes and procedures
This is a permanent role, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
