LIBRARY READING CHAMPION
Contract weeks: 37 hours per week, Term Time. The working day will be 8.15-4.15 Monday-Thursday; 8.15-3.45 Friday
Salary: HBC 3 – SCP 5-6 £18,795 – £19,171 (Pro-rata Equivalent £15,663 - £15,976)
NB: HBC4 – SCP7-11, £19,554 - £21,166 (Pro-rata equivalent £16,295 - £17,638) maybe available for an outstanding candidate
We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, well organized individual to be the face of reading at OBA and take a leading role in planning and organising a school resource centre which supports the whole school reading priority.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about reading who places children at the forefront of their decision making. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritising reading to allow pupils to access a full curriculum offer by supporting students to improve their reading through your leadership of a reading intervention programme across key stage 3. This role will also manage our busy and thriving library.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A knowledge and love of children’s literature
- Be aligned to the values of OBA through a child-first approach to their work
- Some experience of supporting children to improve their reading
- A high level of organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the school community
- Be self-motivated and able to work under own direction
