Senior Mechanical Engineer
Pay: GBP47.82ph Ltd
Location: Barrow
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description
Our client are currently looking for a Senior Engineer to work in their Propulsion Steering & Hull Mechanics Department to be based at their facility in Barrow; working on the design of bespoke pieces of equipment that integrate within submarines and other naval vessels.
Key tasks include:
Leading the development and justification of mechanical design utilising first principals and FEA analysis.
Undertaking detailed peer review and checking / verification.
Producing evidence in support of qualification, and safety justifications and providing specialist support for associated activities.
Ideal Experience and Qualifications
Confident communicator, who is able to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will also possess good analytical skills, alongside the ability to bring innovation.
Ideally Degree Qualified in a relevant Engineering subject, a Chartered Engineer would be an advantage, however those without qualifications with equivalent experience will equally be considered.
Knowledge of Stress Analysis Calculations including Finite Element Analysis of structural solutions and mechanical components
Experience is Geometrical tolerance, design for manufacture.
