Project Engineer

Project Engineer - FPSO Project - Offshore Oil and Gas - Aberdeen - 6 - 12 months +

My engineering client are working on a major FPSO project in the west of Shetland area. They need someone to work onshore in their projects for station upkeep and modifications.

Responsibilities;

• Accountable for the detailed definition of the dismantling, construction and installation procedures for the FPSO - including upgrades in line with company and industry regulations and procedures.
• Working with inhouse engineering teams alongside Sub-contractors, the Project Management Team and Maintenance Superintendents,
• Interface with the operators Project Engineers to answer ad-hoc technical queries from time to time.
• Initially you will be estimating and planning of the work in advance of phases 2 & 3 Execution and Preparation for Operations.
• Provide interim progress reports for the Project Manager and support the management team as required with presentations and completion timelines as required.
• Assist in the development of project strategy documents
• Ensure that all lessons learned from previous TAR's, shutdowns and train outages have been actioned and an improvement procedure is in place.
• Participate in both internal and external peer reviews to identify opportunities and threats.
• Risk management, including participation in the risk ranking of all workscopes, identification of HSE risks during execution activities and that appropriate mitigation is in place.
• Work with the project planner to help develop an integrated P6 plan, a strategy for growth management, status reports, KPI metrics and appropriate progress reporting tools.

Essential Experience;

• Oil and Gas experience - understanding of processes and safety standards.
• Project engineering experience if not senior engineer that has performed the above tasks in the past.
• Proactive attitude to work
• Engineering knowledge - Mechanical, Construction and Maintenance

Desirable;

• FPSO experience
• Naval Architect/Qualified
• Chartered Engineer

Location: Aberdeen with quarterly visits offshore for a few days at a time.
Hours: 40+ hours/week
Rate: Day rate is applied
Contract: 6 months + - likely to be long term.
